Vela, dragon y mariquita
Nov. 24th, 2017 09:13 pmAfter another busy week at work there was a prize-giving evening after school that I had to go to on Thursday night. It didn't finish until 8 o'clock and then I went straight from there to my Spanish group.
There were two new people there for a change. I'd seen their photos on Facebook and noticed them sitting by themselves when I arrived at the pub. Normally I'd be hesitant to approach people I've never met, but I couldn't hide the fact that I recognized them so I smiled and introduced myself. They were very friendly. They're both aupairs. One has been in England 3 months and is fluent in English; she's from Chile. The other one couldn't speak English and has only been in the country 1 month; she's from the Dominican Republic.
When the others arrived (there were 6 of us tonight), we played a card game called Doble and it was a good way of interacting. I also know the Spanish for 'candle', 'dragon' and 'ladybird' now.
:)
I managed to keep up with my Spanish conversation without too much effort for a change.
:P
