My second eldest kid was 15 yesterday.
I was thinking back to when I was 15 and this from Prince still feels magical:

Prince never allowed his videos to stay on YouTube so to see it again now takes me right back. I know every detail of this song and each little bit reminds me of being that age.

There are lots of songs that take me back to my youth. So couldn't pin down one. So thinking around that same age, at 14, it was this song that had me a dancing cliche, as I used to sing in the mirror with my brush as a microphone. : )

Ah, now that's interesting. I thought it was Grandmaster Flash, but it turns out Grandmaster Flash also sampled it from Tom Tom Club.

I love Prince! Thanks for reminding me, I need to start watching the videos now that I can.

The song that reminds me of my youth is Type O Negative's Stay out of My Dreams. I was fifteen and in love.

I'd never heard of Type O Negative before.
I looked them up on YouTube and they remind me of the Sisters of Mercy.

Type O Negative is one of my all-time favorites. Actually I thought of the wrong song, Unsuccessfully Coping with the Natural Beauty of Infidelity. I wrote the lyrics to this bus stop near my boyfriend's house. I wonder if it's still there. Sisters of Mercy is okay but Type O Negative is my favorite.

Maybe your goth phase was so early that you missed them! I think they started playing sometime before the beginning of the nineties. Or in the nineties. I think they were some sort of pioneers of goth metal. That there weren't metal that was goth before that.
