The pursuit of happiness
Nov. 5th, 2017 08:01 pmThe other day, an old guy in my church gave my eldest son a magazine from some fundamental Christian organisation that claims that if you believe in evolution you cannot be a Christian?!%®¡
That kind of attitude is quite rare in our church but the few people that have it can be quite outspoken.
:/
Fortunately, more and more sound people have moved into positions of authority recently.
The pastor this morning was talking about how humans are hedonistic by nature and that that isn't necessarily a bad thing. We're all looking for happiness. He said that the Creator provides us with the deepest contentment possible and that enables us to live life in all its fullness.
I feel like he's on my page more and more.
After the service, I spoke to another church leader (the one who also leads our house-group), and he was saying that he likes our house-group because it feels like you can share anything and not be judged. Again, it feels like he's on my page.
I'm really looking forward to giving my sermon next week. It's pretty much about welcoming everyone into the kingdom of God whoever they are. I'm going to mention those who believe in evolution in particular, and gay people. :)
