I had my assembly today.
I mentioned before, how the last couple of times I've spoken in public, I've lost my breath and my heart has started racing. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to do it.
I asked the Reverend of the church (where the assemblies take place) to pray for me before I went up, and I don't know if it's psychological but I felt totally chilled when I got up there. It's a real relief because I'd like to do more sermons. They focus me spiritually and make me more positive minded. I've got one coming up at my church in about a month, so it's boosted my confidence too.
I used this song by U2 to go with what I spoke about this morning. I think I've posted it before on here but it's such a powerful song.
It starts with Bono and the Edge performing with just the acoustic guitar. Then the other two members of the band join in quietly. Then Will Smith starts clapping along and the talk-show house band join in. I like the way it shows unity.

The words are simple but they've got a beautiful sentiment:
"We can't reach any higher
If we can't deal with ordinary love"

Glad you did well with speaking today. I saw that performance when it first aired and liked it a lot as well. It's a beautiful song and gotta love Bono's voice. : )

Congratulations! Whatever the reason, it's super cool that you were able to overcome your nervousness of public speaking. I hope this experience and the confidence boost it gave you serve to carry you through many more sermons :D
