Volleyball and small-talk
Jul. 16th, 2017 02:23 pmYesterday was my mother-in-law's 75th birthday so she took us (all her family) out for an all-you-can-eat meal. There were 22 of us. I made sure I had a good workout in the afternoon to compensate for the amount of food that was coming.
Then they all came back to our house in the evening. It worked out well being able to open up our kitchen into the garden and I was glad to make use of it. I was tired from making small-talk over the meal though and didn't fancy another 2 or 3 hours. So I got the volleyball net out and myself, Zac (my 7 year old), Sam (my 5 year old nephew) and a few of the lads in their 20s played that.
It was good because the kids were occupied doing something physical and fun and I didn't have to sit around talking about nothing. : )
They left about 11.
Phew...
