Today was the big exam at my school for my 16 year old students. I put extra lessons on for them in the morning and also prayed for them before they left the classroom. I was thinking that they might find prayer a bit...weird...stupid...?? But they all listened in silence and when I finished one lad said: "Respect man".
I went down to the exam hall when they were coming out of the exam later and they all looked happy. That's good news. The students from last year looked like that and got good results.
When I got home I was looking through my kindle fire stick for the latest episode of American Gods or Preacher (the only tv programmes I watch) and I saw another one that I've never heard of before that had good ratings. It's called Oasis and it's about a vicar/priest who joins this space program where they're setting up a new society. I liked the look of it. The actor is Scottish and he's not your typical type of chaplain. Not dissimilar to the character in Preacher...he's also ecumenical, not being aligned to any specific church denomination which I can identify with. Looks like an interesting show.

I may have to look into it again.
Yeah, it's a church of England school where I teach although most kids that go are from Muslim backgrounds.
They're familiar with prayer and know I'm a Christian. I still wasn't sure how they would respond to an impromptu prayer but it was good.
