At school today we had 4 candidates being interviewed for a position in my department. The first one was a lady in her 50s. She had a PhD in Ethics and took every opportunity to remind us. The second one was a woman in her 20s. Seemed fairly normal; quite strict with the students... Third was another woman in her 20s - a bit quiet, a bit querky, I wasn't convinced she'd be able to handle all of our students though. Then lastly there was a guy in his 30s who was very loud ... maybe a little too loud. Myself and senior management watched them teach and then interviewed them.
It was an interesting experience because I'm going to have to work with this person. As the day progressed I was trying to sus them out and I could see that they were trying to sus me out.
Anyway, the Headteacher and my line manager preferred the second candidate - the young woman. I think she'll fit in our department well. She seems like the kind of person who will get the job done and she's enthusiastic which is what I want. Because we're short of a teacher in History and Geography they also decided to take on the querky one too.
So, they start in September. I'm feeling optimistic. : )

You need a very enthusiastic person who teach History and Geography. I hated them when I was in the school!! Well... tbh I hated almost everything, school was soooo bored! I liked Maths, French (but useless), Logic, Psychology and mmmm I think nothing else >.
