Esta noche alguien?
May. 4th, 2017 11:43 pmI wasn't sure if the Spanish group would meet tonight. I posted, "esta noche alguien? (This evening anyone?") on the Facebook page this morning and had a couple of responses so it happened.
I picked up Sergio (my Venezuelan friend from church) at 8:15 and we were the first ones at the pub. Then Mick (the college teacher) arrived. Then I saw a guy looking around and thought he might be looking for the group. He looked slightly familiar from the Facebook page, so I asked him and he was. A guy called Dave - big guy, probably late 30s, good-looking, friendly enough. Then Haby (Spanish teacher from Madrid) turned up with one of his students called Simon. And then Reg (my English friend who lived in Nicaragua for a couple of years) turned up. It was the first time in the three years that we've had an all male turnout...
It was ok. I felt like I managed to follow the vast majority of what was being said, even from the native speakers who speak a little faster than the others. And so the group continues.

Date: 2017-05-06 10:39 am (UTC)I get to practice speaking and listening to Spanish for about 3 hours every Thursday night. It's the best input I get.
One tip for you by the way - with English, if a word begins with a vowel(like 'English') you use 'an' before it, not 'a'.
Sorry, let me know if you prefer not to have your English corrected.
